The latest trends in home design will be showcased throughout the River Region this month during the 2017 Parade of Homes.
The Parade, sponsored by the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association, will feature several homes in the tri-county area. The event will take place over a two-weekend period, on Saturday and Sunday, and July 15-16.
This year’s Central Site is the New Park neighborhood in Montgomery. The site will feature seven homes from six different builders.
“Having the Central Site at New Park allows the public the opportunity to see a variety of building styles and homes in one location,” said Anita Cater, vice president of the Jim Wilson & Associates development company.
Home decor and energy-saving building practices will be a focus of the event.
The GMHBA will also highlight its latest special project – the “Ideal Home” – during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday at 10 a.m. The Ideal Home, located in the New Park development, was constructed to reflect new design trends.
The house was designed by Stephen Thrash, of Custom Home Designs, and decorated by Logan Wright with The Wright Design.
The home is located at 9236 Sheraton Park Way in Montgomery.
The Parade will also feature eight villages that have at least three homes in one neighborhood. There are three villages located in Pike Road, which include Stone Park, The Orchards and The Waters. There are three villages in Montgomery, which include The Oaks at Sturbridge, Hampstead and Stoneybrooke Plantation. There is one village located at Grand Park in Millbrook.
The Parade of Homes will be open each weekend from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Parade Guide can be found at any local Max Credit Union location, any one of the Parade homes or by calling the GMHBA office at 334-277-7766.
